The Haunted Barn & Hay Ride benefits Diamonds in the Rough Rescue and your contribution will assist in rescuing abandoned and abused horses in need. If you would like to help, please consider sponsoring a horse. Each one of our rescue animals require routine vet checks, twice-daily feedings, and their hooves are trimmed by a farrier every six weeks. As you can imagine, these expenses add up quickly. We have broken down the numbers for any who would like to help:
$45 covers the farrier expenses of one rescued horse for a month.
$120 covers the grain expenses for one rescued horse for a month.
$165 covers both farrier and grain expenses for a month.
$500 one-time donation covers the cost of one rescued horse to receive a wellness exam, vaccinations, dental exam/teeth float, and Coggins.
There are other expenses incurred such as utility costs, emergency vet care, medications, hay, and supplements. We happily accept any monetary donations to help off set these costs. If you are unable to help with a cash donation, we gladly take donated wormer, feed, hay, etc. We also love to have volunteers help with rehabilitating the horses, grooming them, watering them, stall cleaning, and farm cleaning.
